Karel is a climber, endurance athlete, and registered dietitian based in Squamish, BC. She completed her Bachelor’s in Nutrition at the Université de Montréal and is pursuing advanced training in Sports Nutrition with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to better support athletes and active individuals through every stage of training, performance, and recovery.

With a background in competitive swimming, triathlon, rock climbing, and ultramarathon, Karel blends both personal experience and professional expertise into her work. She supports climbers, endurance athletes, and active individuals of all levels with navigating fueling strategies, injury recovery, and performance goals. Karel is passionate about making nutrition practical, personalized, and empowering, helping people feel strong, confident, and well-fueled without restriction or guilt.

Karel’s approach is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and collaboration. She takes the time to understand each person’s goals, lifestyle, and unique needs, then works together with them to create practical nutrition strategies that truly fit their life. Her practice blends evidence-based care with a weight-inclusive philosophy, supporting people in finding a sustainable balance between fueling their active life and enjoying food with confidence and flexibility.

Note: Karel provides 1:1 nutrition counselling for residents of BC, NB, NS, YT, NT, and NU.

  • Bachelor’s in Nutrition from the University of Montréal
